Cobalt’s founder, Helen Goddard, brings experience and perspective to every assignment through her 24 years’ experience working in recruitment in agency, in outsourced services and fully in-house. She understands people, businesses and cultural fit; she is tenacious and hard-working; she is fair, unbiased and ethical; and she gets results.
Helen has an excellent track-record of delivery in a variety of client environments and business sectors including consulting, technology, engineering, media, banking and pharmaceutical. She is an expert at creative candidate sourcing using multiple tools and databases and networking (7500+ LinkedIn connections). Throughout her career she has maintained a hands-on approach to sourcing candidates, latterly taking responsibility for executive-level roles.

If our candidates don’t work out during their onboarding, we will find the perfect replacement free of charge.
The entire end-to-end recruitment process including sourcing, interviewing and shortlisting is delivered by senior level managers with at least 20 years of recruitment experience. This gives us the confidence to charge our clients differently to traditional search firms.
We have a 96% retention rate
We are experts at assessing. We make sure we understand our clients, their roles and culture and our candidates. This means we can match effectively, which results in candidates that stay, have impact and deliver significant value. 96% of our placed candidates have stayed for at least 12 months.
We charge the majority of our fee on placement.
We win when you win and believe in demonstrating our capability and delivering results before charging our full fee. We break our fees down so that they are aligned with each phase of an assignment.
Cobalt Search treats all candidates respectfully and everyone is given constructive feedback, even if they are declined. To us it feels wrong that this is unusual, but it is. What makes us different from other agencies is that our Researchers actually research.
We are experts at spotting a match and have exceptional powers of persuasion. We use various tools on multiple channels to find the very best talent, wherever they are hiding, and we are adept at sparking a candidate’s interest. We are targeted to finding and enticing extremely high volumes of relevant candidates and it would not be unusual to review over 3,000 candidates before selecting around 500 that look right on paper.
